How would it run?
Just curious how the game will run on my computer. Just tested my internet connection, uploading @ 206kb and downloading @ 2.53mb, although on the download I see 3.5 sometimes, depending on the time of day. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ @ 1.8ghz, 512mb RAM, an Nvidia Ti 4600, and an Audigy 2 ZS. I would hope to see the game run smootly at all times. Would I be disappointed?

With the setup you appear to have I would say you can run the game fine. However, I don't know a lot about the graphics card you have.
As far as running the game, sure, the GPU may well run it ok, but you may not get the full benefit of smooth gameplay or glitch free graphics.
The easiest thing to try, buy the game and see what happens. THe game won't dissappoint you if you are really into this type of game, just the graphics card may cause a few hiccups.
ANyone else that has ideas on the GPU, you will hear from them soon enough.

thanks for the reply..
i know this is completely unrelated, but you saying if i'm into this type of game i wouldn't be disappointed brought me to my next question......
honestly, never have i found a game like this that i like. final fantasy? always hated them. world of warcraft? didn't see anything special. everquest? ditto. is this game any different from the above, or should i steer the other way? the way this game is advertised, it seems like something that i'd like, one thing being the leveling up not being as important as skill. how is skill related in gameplay? does this relate to attribute/skill decisions, or does it actually relate to battling? what i'm looking for is an mmorpg type game where in battling it's less about clicking and watching the hero do the move for you and more about executing it yourself.

Much like World of Warcraft, you target something, click on a skill, and your character uses that skill on your target. It's pretty direct.
Superficially, the game is very much like World of Warcraft. The user interface is very similiar and the combat mechanics are similiar. However, the strategy and skill elements are very different. Building your character's skills and attributes is very important, yet you can change them very easily. Combat is very much based upon skill rather than level. I recently played in the Crystal Desert (every enemy in the zone is level 20 or higher) with a lvl12 Monk on my team. He was almost as effective at healing as I was. PvP is based upon your character design, combat skill, and teamwork skills, not upon your character level.
The thing that I love about the game is that I can change my character to meet my needs, and create new strategies using a wide array of skills. Let me give you a couple examples.
I play as a Monk/Necromancer. For a regular group, I take almost entirely skills that heal or mitigate damage. When I play with henchmen in easier areas, I toss in a few damage spells to quicken the battle and give me more offensive power.
However, I can also solo without any henchmen with a very specific build. I use 2 skills (Divine Boon and Life Attunement) that greatly increase my healing capabilities, but greatly reduce the rate at which I regenerate energy (mana). However, I also use Balthazar's Spirit, which decreases my energy regeneration rate, but makes me gain energy every time I get hit. I also use a spell called Zealot's Fire, which makes me do damage in an area around myself every time I cast a spell on myself. With this setup, I run into a group of enemies (I've tried it successfully with six, although I could probably do more), that could kill me in about 3 seconds if I didn't do anything. I use cheap, quick healing spells on myself that can keep me alive, since they are more powerful, and because of Balthazar's Spirit, I gain mana quickly enough to power those spells. Zealot's Fire does a great deal of damage every time I use one of those healing spells, so I can slaughter a large group of enemies in seconds.
My point is that I can switch my build from a completely defensive grouping healer, to a very offensive soloer, whenever I want. If I get bored, I can do something totally different. So, the best part about this game for me is that choosing your attributes and skills offers a huge amount of depth, especially compared to other games. Combat itself isn't as fun as an FPS, because it doesn't have the same directness of character control. Still, combat is fun, especially in difficult missions and PvP. If you are looking for something with great strategy and depth, then Guild Wars is a great game. If you don't care about that, and only want a game that offers great combat, then you should probably pick up a different game.

Your computer will run the game perfectly at whatever settings you want. Trust me; your GPU is fine. It won't cause a single problem.

I'd be shocked as hell if that old Ti will run at a higher resolution than 1024x768 and anti-aliasing is out of the question....
you'll still be able to play perfectly fine you'll just have to go without high resolution or aa

For your information, I have a ti4600. I run at 1280x1024 in window mode with no problems whatsoever. In fullscreen, I can turn on AA with no problem - but in window mode the AA clashes with Windows XP (because of the video card's drivers).
Just thought I'd make you "shocked as hell" at my "old Ti".

I was using a 4600 the first week or so I had the game and it was fine. I don't recommend using AA but with medium settings it'll run smooth unless you're in large towns.
